PUTRAJAYA, July 7 (Bernama) -- Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has proposed to the Education Ministry that the Young Doctors Club be implemented automatically as an educational health programme in all primary schools in the country.

This was in view of the lack of response to the programme, with only 1500 schools involving 36,000 pupils having implemented it this year as at June.

"This constitutes merely 19 percent of the total of 2,860,340 pupils from 7714 primary schools in the country," he said.

He said this in his speech text delivered by the Disease Control Director, Dr Chong Chee Kheong at the national-level Young Doctors Club celebration and Putrajaya Health Expedition 2012 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 9 (2) Saturday.
