It’s so easy to grab a handful of sweets when we’re hungry instead of reaching out for a healthier snack. The problem is that out bodies are geared up for storing fat, so eating too much sugary snack is a quick way of adding to our fat store, which can lead to diseases such as heart disease, Type 2 diabetes and some cancers.

Choose snacks without added sugar such as fruit, unsalted nuts, breadsticks, rice cakes or toast, instead of sweets, biscuits, chocolate, cakes and pastries.
