Change White Rice, Pasta And Bread With Their Wholemeal Versions

We’ve all heard of fibre and know it helps to move our bowels  regularly, but most of us don’t really know why it’s important or where to find it.

  • fibre is only found in food from plants e.g. fruit and veggies, seeds, grains, wholegrain bread, brown rice and pasta, oats, beans, peas and lentils.
  • fibre helps prevent constipation and clears the gut so that nasty substances don’t hang around for too long.
  • fibre can help to reduce blood cholesterol

Change white rice and pasta with wholemeal versions. Doing this can double the amount of fibre you eat. Just like white bread, white pasta and rice have had the fibre stripped off.
